CAN-C was a luxury private residence where Concept Installations became involved during Phase 2 of the build. Our scope focused on extending and enhancing the existing installation, delivering additional electrical works, a high-performance private cinema, and integrated garden audio and lighting systems.
The interior design was led by Bloom Studio, with the external gardens designed by Laterna Gardens, requiring close coordination to ensure technical systems were seamlessly integrated into the architectural and landscape vision.
Private Cinema Room
A dedicated cinema room was designed and installed to reference standards, with particular emphasis on thermal management, acoustic performance, and audiophile-grade sound quality.
Due to architectural constraints and the absence of a conventional projector void, the projector was installed within a DC Screens hush box, incorporating active ventilation. This system extracts hot air from the projector enclosure while introducing cooled air, ensuring stable operating temperatures and long-term reliability.
The visual system features a 160” Screen Research motorised screen, recessed into the ceiling and programmed to deploy automatically when the cinema is activated.
Audio performance was delivered using a Meridian 7.2 surround system, centred around the Meridian 8000 Series loudspeakers for the front left and right channels. The system included high-performance in-wall speakers and Meridian in-wall subwoofers, all driven and processed using dual Meridian processors. One processor was dedicated specifically to reference-grade music playback, reflecting the client’s strong audiophile focus and ensuring uncompromised sound quality.
The room was acoustically treated behind a fabric wall system, concealing absorptive and corrective materials while maintaining a clean, minimal aesthetic.
Lighting within the cinema includes RGBW LED strip lighting and illuminated niches by Light Graphix, allowing full scene control from subtle pre-movie ambience to complete blackout. A motorised blackout blind was fully integrated and programmed to deploy automatically when the cinema mode is selected.
All cinema functions — projection, audio, lighting, and blinds — are controlled via Control4, delivering a single, intuitive user experience.
Lighting Control & Electrical
Lighting control throughout the property was implemented using KNX, providing reliable and flexible scene control across bedrooms and shared spaces. The KNX system was integrated with Control4 to ensure consistent operation across lighting, AV, and shading.
Additional electrical installations were carried out across multiple bedrooms to accommodate updated layouts, lighting details, and user requirements introduced during Phase 2.
Garden Audio & Lighting
The exterior areas were equipped with Sonance outdoor audio systems, discreetly integrated within the landscaped gardens to provide even coverage without visual intrusion.
Garden lighting was coordinated closely with the landscape design by Laterna Gardens, ensuring technical performance aligned with the intended aesthetic and nighttime atmosphere.
The Result
CAN-C is a strong example of Concept Installations’ ability to enter complex projects mid-phase, adapt to existing infrastructure, and deliver high-end technical solutions without compromise. The cinema room, in particular, stands out for its sound quality, thermal engineering, and seamless automation, while the KNX and Control4 integration ensures the home operates as a cohesive, intuitive system.
