Can Ja

Client brief & design intent

The goal was to turn an ageing property into a refined, contemporary home that still felt warm and authentic. The client and design team wanted clean modern interiors with carefully detailed lighting, traditional-style switches to suit the finca, seamless smart control with no visible technology, reliable network coverage throughout, and a system that felt intuitive rather than technical.

Technical & design strategy

We carried out a full electrical re-installation, working closely with Bloom Studio on lighting positions, control points and architectural details. KNX manages every lighting circuit, with LED lighting in coves, niches and recesses highlighting the curves, textures and handcrafted details. Fontini rustic switches and sockets give a traditional look with modern control behind them.

Control4 brings lighting, audio-visual and access together in one simple interface, Ubiquiti UniFi provides stable WiFi everywhere, and access control improves security while staying easy to use.

The result

Can Ja is a standout example of contemporary design and smart technology integrated into a traditional Ibiza property: the lighting enhances the architecture at every turn, while the technology stays discreet and intuitive.
